What might the film look like?
This film package is a tribute to your family’s shared experiences. It's about capturing more than just clips – it's about encapsulating the essence of your family, the flavours of tradition, and the echoes of heartfelt conversations and stories.
It might revolve around a chat you’re having with someone from your family and I create visuals with you, or we can record a voice over with a family member as they share some of their memories.
For example, I'd been wanting to make a film with my Great Uncle Harry for some time. He's been a farmer for ever since I can remember, and I've always loved his stories about his life there. He's a conduit to our history, and being the oldest member of our family, I wanted to record him talking about his life.

Culinary Journeys. Let’s cook together, from one of those recipes that’s been passed down generations, either from whispers, or from a well loved book with the curling pages. Is it the ultimate bread and butter pudding, or the perfect Sunday roast? Explore how food has the power to connect generations and preserve your family traditions.
Artistic Legacies. Highlight the craftsmanship and artistic talents within your family. We can interview a member of the family who is still practicing a traditional craft such as woodworking, weaving, pottery, or any other artisanal skills. In the film we’ll showcase their work process, the techniques they use, and the stories behind their creations. This can serve as a tribute to their dedication to preserving these crafts and passing on their knowledge to future generations.
Heirlooms and Treasures. We can showcase those meaningful objects and share the stories behind them. Maybe it’s sitting down and taking a look through your old family photos together, you know the ones kept in the old biscuit tin. Over a cup of tea, we can gather your stories and memories.

Home Movies and Footage. I can also incorporate old home movie and video clips from family gatherings and holidays to provide a visual journey through your family's history. The past and the present meeting in your Stories From the Fireside film. I know how important my home movie footage is to me, and I’d like to offer this to you.

Proposal and Cost:
Following this initial chat, I'll provide you with a customised proposal and quote. As each project is bespoke, the quote for the film will be based on your specific requirements. To give you an example, these films will be starting at £995 for a 1 minute short, filmed over half a day.
Collaborative Planning:
Once the proposal is approved, I'll collaborate closely with you to plan every aspect of the filming process. This is the bit where we can get excited together in making this film uniquely yours!
Filming Day:
What we’ve building up to. I’ll create a comfortable and supportive environment, allowing you to share your story in your own words and at your own pace.
Post Production Magic:
After filming is complete, I'll work my post production magic to weave together your footage and voices into a compelling narrative. Here I can add other elements like music, old footage and family photos to enhance the emotional impact of your story.
Delivery of the Final Film:
Once the editing process is finished, I'll deliver the final film to you to view. We will then have one round of editing changes if there are any to be made. You'll have a beautiful keepsake to treasure and share with your loved ones.
